Jim Isermann takes logic as his starting point, and, through studies on paper and models, makes work which transcends a concern with a specific medium.
A central interest for Jim Isermann has always been colour. For over thirty years this would have been set on what Isermann considers a designated California palette, and found in industrial paints and pre-mixed colours. In recent years, Jim Isermann has started using artist paints, maintaining in his focus a concern for patterns, symbols, and repetition.
Corvi-Mora is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings by Jim Isermann. For close to 40 years, Jim Isermann has employed painting, drawing, sculpture, and installations, paired with graphic and product design, in an idiosyncratic creative process that finds its roots in math and geometry.
